We are looking for a skilled API Tester to join our QA team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing RESTful and SOAP APIs, validating integrations, ensuring data accuracy, and identifying defects in backend services. You will work closely with developers, product teams, and QA engineers to ensure high-quality API performance and reliability.
Analyze API requirements, specifications, and technical documentation.
Design and execute API test cases, including functional, negative, error handling, and regression tests.
Test REST/SOAP APIs using tools like Postman, Swagger, JMeter, or similar.
Validate API responses (status codes, headers, schema, data accuracy).
Write and maintain automated API test scripts (using Postman/Newman, RestAssured, JMeter, etc.).
Identify defects, report issues, and collaborate with developers to resolve them.
Perform integration testing of APIs with front-end and back-end components.
Monitor API performance, load, and response time when required.
Document test results, generate test reports, and ensure test coverage.
Proven experience in API Testing or QA Engineering.
Strong understanding of RESTful and SOAP API concepts.
Hands-on experience with Postman, Swagger, SOAP UI, or similar tools.
Ability to write JSON/XML validation and test scripts.
Knowledge of HTTP methods, status codes, headers, and authentication methods (OAuth, JWT, API keys).
Experience with API automation frameworks (Postman Collections, RestAssured, etc.).
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with CI/CD integration for automated testing.
Knowledge of SQL for backend data validation.
Familiarity with tools like JMeter for performance testing.
Understanding of microservices architecture.
